Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….

I design and illustrate greeting cards. I have now designed for the high street for 10 years and am currently concentrating on my card work although many other exciting projects in the pipe line.

How would you describe your style?

Uplifting and happy!

How long have you been making your craft items?

I have been working on my cards for just over a year.

Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?

certain designs are coming up as most popular, my umami heart, little tweets balloons and my mischief dino boy!

What do you enjoy most about your craft?

The freedom to create what I want and then get amazing feedback.

Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?

I have just got back from my first trade show PG Live in London which was a huge success.

What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?

I have so many, to expand my card range and work on lots more exciting projects designing many other items/maybe a book. I have made whales in the past and there are some more of these on the way too.

You have previously taken part in The Fairy Tale Fair. Did you enjoy the day?

I have been lucky enough to have taken part in 3 Fairy Tale fairs now and I just love them, claire works her A** off doing tons of fab promoting and there is always a great buzz.

Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….

Claudia Made This is a range of jewellery and 3D boxed prints made by Claudia Thomas, using fimo, clay and paper craft to create charming and sweet designs, suitable for children and the young at heart!

How would you describe your style?

Something a bit different, a little bit kooky!

How long have you been making your craft items?

I started making craft items 2 years ago in my summer break from University.

Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?

My cute character Clic-Clac hairgrips are always popular as they are great for smaller children and there are so many colours and designs to choose from!

What do you enjoy most about your craft?

I enjoy seeing customers walking away from my stall, putting their newly purchased studs and hairgrips in. It’s lovely to see someone really appreciating your work.

Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?

Yes, I am going to be taking part at Craftganza at the Fabrica Gallery and have also sold at The Brighton Craft Fair. I have previously taken part in a pop up shop in Rottingdean and I’m always on the look out for new opportunities.

What items and Mother’s day/ Easter gifts will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?

I will be selling a range of delightfully imaginative 3D prints, which would make perfect mothers day gifts. For Easter my earrings and hairgrips would make affordable gifts for those who don’t like chocolate, or just fancy something a bit different this year!

What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?

I am currently in my third year at Kingston University studying Graphic Design. After I finish, I hope to make Claudia Made This a successful small business, doing markets more regularly and supplying my designs to shops and boutiques all over the country.

Say Hello To…I Drew This

We first met I Drew This at our last Fairy Tale Fair, and we are lucky enough to have her and her greeting cards back again.

Remind us a bit about you and what you do/ make….

I illustrate greeting cards which feature fun and colourful, sometimes sentimental designs.

Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?

My Umami range is doing ever so well along with my AAW animals especially Terry the tortoise and my Happiness range has already got off to a flying start in 2013!!

What do you enjoy most about your craft?

I love creating images which make people smile, I am a big softy at heart 🙂

Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?

This year I am doing as many small stalls as possible including hurstpierpoint and The Kemp town carnival along with doing my first trade fair PG LIve in London in May too!

What items and Mother’s day/ Easter gifts will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?

I will have some small easter cards along with some super sweet cards for that special Mum.

A Festive Gift From…Ilona Drew This

Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….

I am a surface pattern designer by trade and have mostly worked in the greeting card industry. I am now publishing my own cards under the name of I Drew This and will be launching at PG Live in London next year.

What festive gifts and creations will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?

I will be selling packs of my christmas cards along with making personalised Christmas cards for loved ones on the day!

You took part in our last Fairy Tale Fair, did you enjoy it and did you find your creations were popular with visitors?

The last Fairy tale Fair was great! I got wonderful feedback about my work found the visitors supportive and really enthusiastic about everyones products and the atmosphere.

Will you be taking part in other events over the festive period (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?

Just the fairy tale fair this year.

Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
I have been working in the greeting card business for 10 years now, I worked in house for 2 publishers before going freelance in 2009. I now enjoy designing childrenwear designs too along with starting up I Drew This greeting cards.

How would you describe your style?
Fun and colourful with a cute sense of humour…I hope!!!

How long have you been making your craft items?
My cards have been selling around Brighton for 4 years now.

Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?
I don’t really have a best seller, I am lucky in that my most of my cards have been really well received by shop owners.

What do you enjoy most about your craft?
That I get to explore my creativity and am constantly growing as an artist and now business person.

Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?
I have done the Brunswick festival with huge success along with a couple of local small fairs and I will be launching at PG Live next year.

What products/ items will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?
Greeting cards.

What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
To establish I Drew This and it to continue to be a fun and interesting way to support me and my family for a happy future.
