A Festive Welcome Back to….. TheBigForest

In the first of our festive stall holder posts for our Christmas fair on the 16th November we proudly welcome back TheBigForest and their wonderful felted creations and Christmas makes! TheBigForest are well known across Brighton, London and beyond and their Etsy and Not on the High Street shops are always popular, however they have chosen The Fairy Tale Fair as the only Brighton based craft fair to sell at this Christmas- so make sure you pop along and don’t miss your only chance this Christmas to meet them in person, as they are lovely people! Find out all about them…

Remind us about you and what you create?

TheBigForest is a designer/maker business based in Brighton and London and we make wondrous goods to delight and thrill!

Our goods include magical illustration and cut-out-and-make Christmas cards for adults and kids and a range of stunning handmade items in wool felt including mobiles for baby; animal, bird and bug key rings; brooches; forest inspired finger puppets; accessories; unique large handmade animals for decorative display; Christmas decorations and …..well come along to The Fairy Tale Fair and take a look, there will be lots more on our stall!

Will you be selling some special festive creations?

We will indeed! We have been designing some very special Christmas treats that will only be available at The Fairy Tale Fair.

Will you be taking part in any other fairs over the Christmas period?

Only one – The Craft Central Christmas Fair in Clerkenwell, London at the end of November. But our goods are always available on line at Not on the High Street (just search for TheBigForest) and in Brighton at the stupendous and ridiculously wonderful Wigwam Toys in Preston Drove.

You have previously taken part in The Fairy Tale Fair. Did you enjoy the day?

We took part in the very first Fairy Tale Fair (we knew you before you were famous!) and we loved it. It was good to see such high quality work by other makers and the cakes and tea were damn special too.

What are your plans/ ambitions for the future?

It’s been a wonderful year for TheBigForest. We were interviewed about our work and influences by Made in Felt magazine (it’s by the same publishers as Mollie Makes), our work has been featured in magazines in the UK and Scandinavia and we have begun to expand our network of wholesale outlets.  We have also made a lot of commissions for adults and kids rooms too, these are real bags under our eyes and distinguished grey hairs I’ll have you know.

In 2014 we will be expanding our business,  developing our lecturing and teaching work, working with new retailers, building our on-line selling and continuing to create goods our loyal (and new) customers love!

Sum up what Christmas is to you in 5 words or less!:

Family; Love; Forests; Stolen; Woodburner.

Any other comments you wish to make:

Come to The Fairy Tale Fair! It will be one of the most inspiring fairs this Christmas and everyone loves handmade festive gifts.
